Initiated
in September 1999, the first goal of this site is to make available
a growing number of classical guitar compositions and transcriptions
by Richard Miles Jackman. In the meantime we are also offering
original works by other composers.
To
listen to the pieces offered here, you must have RealAudioPlayer
or a comptible player such as VLC installed. Due to the relatively small size of the sound files
you will be accessing, the tonal quality is considerably worse
than that of the original recording. However, the spirit of
the music will be evident. You will hear a real guitar being
played by a real classical guitarist (Richard Miles Jackman)
rather than a technically perfect yet artificial MIDI guitar.
In
the near future, a CD
with the pieces presented here will be available. To listen
to the first 10 seconds of this
CD in close-to-original sound quality,
please download this
MP3 file (240 KB). Of course you will have to listen
to it over a high fidelity sound system to hear this quality.
You
can buy the corresponding sheet music online. The music has
been set using a profoessional music notation program, and then
converted to PDF.
You can download the sheet music and then view it and print
it out using Adobe Acrobat Reader. To assess the quality of
our sheet music we recommend you download
our free classical guitar sheet music. (Prelude and Capricho Arabe by Tarrega) Please use Adobe Acrobat Reader
version 4.0 or higher. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader,
you can download
it free.
If
you would like to give us any feedback or be notified when new
sheet music becomes available, feel free to send
us an e-mail.
